Miranda Kerr Rumors Debunked: Not Fired, Just ‘Can’t Commit’ To An Angel Contract
Last week, rumors swirled that Victoria’s Secret chose not to renew Miranda Kerr’s Angel contract because she drew lower sales for the brand and is “difficult” to work with — but it looks like those lofty claims were a bit far-reaching. Now Miranda herself has spoken up to clear the air, hinting at bigger moves in her future than walking lingerie runways.
”The thing is, I’ve been modelling since I was 13,” Miranda told the Sydney Morning Herald. ”I’m now entering a new phase in my life. I have felt this coming since my son was born and, after I became a mother, I realised I needed to prioritise my time.”
And it seems posing as an Angel takes up too big a chunk of that precious time: Miranda says she’d need to commit to a minimum of three months in the Angel role, which is too large a distraction at this stage in her career.
“I’ve reached a point in my career where I’m developing my own opportunities that are really reflective of my passions,” Miranda says, hinting that she might like to take a stab at the business side of her industry, transitioning from boudoir to boardroom.
As for the pesky gossip regarding Miranda’s “difficult” nature? Totally false. “I’m sure anyone that has worked with me would agree that it’s not true,” she said.
This clarifies the confusing statement that Ed Razek, President and Chief Marketing Officer at Victoria’s Secret gave last week: “While her international commitments have kept her away from us more than we’d like over the past few years, she will always be an Angel to me.”
We’re glad Miranda has set the story straight and we’re happy to hear that this is an amicable parting, with Miranda continuing to walk for Victoria’s Secret, no strings attached. What business ventures do you think Miranda’s got up her wing sleeve?
Miranda Shares Style Secrets And Parenting Tips
Supermodel and super mom Miranda Kerr is known for rocking skimpy lingerie on a runway, but she’s happiest at home in a robe with her son. We caught up with her at the Victoria’s Secret launch of the Fabulous bra and fragrance collection to score her style and parenting tips.
SheKnows: How has your style changed since becoming a mom?
Miranda Kerr: It really depends on if I’m at home or what occasion I’m going to… so if I’m going out or going to work, I like to have fun with fashion and that’s what a lot of people see. But when I’m at home, I literally like to be in my robe and barefoot and that’s just the way that I am. I spend a lot of time at home in LA with my son.
SK: What do you recommend wearing when you’re expecting?
MK: Be comfortable. I loved a lot of maxi dresses when I was pregnant just because you feel free and effortless in a maxi dress.
SK: You have amazing skin. What are your favorite products?
MK: I have my own skin care line, Kora Organics, so I can’t live without it. It’s cleanse, tone, moisturize for me and we have the 3-step pack available. There won’t be international shipping fees anymore for U.S. customers, so that’s very exciting.
Photoshoot For Kora Organics
Miranda looks refreshingly beautiful during a photoshoot for Kora Organics on Sunday (February 10) at Palm Beach in Sydney, Australia.
The 29-year-old supermodel wore a Zimmermann dress, Miu Miu sunglasses, a The Hatmaker hat, and a Tigerlily bikini.
The shoot was photographed by Chris Colls with styling by Romy Frydman.
Thank you again to the #A-team who worked on my KORA campaign yesterday,” Miranda wrote on Instagram, along with the names of her team from the photo shoot.
